From the BCP p. 559:

Maundy Thursday receives its name from the mandate (commandment) given by our Lord: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another" (John 13:34)

At the Maundy Thursday service, we commemorate the night in which Jesus approached his coming death by fellowshipping with his disciples one last time and instituting his Supper as a perpetual remembrance of his whole life and ministry.

Join us on April 2 at 6:00pm for this special service, where the altar itself will be stripped of its vestments in preparation for the mystery of the Crucifixion.
