Fr. Matt Rusch – Rector
When you meet Matt (from Iowa), there are several things you will know right off the bat, He always points to Christ, his love for family, and how to treasure and protect Christ’s flock. You’ll most definitely hear him speak of C. S. Lewis, Tim Keller, and his appreciation of Jeeps.
Fr. Matt Rusch grew up in Iowa. He attended Iowa State University where he received his Bachelors degree and spent time working in youth and college ministry. After college he spent four years as an adjuster for Nationwide Insurance. He went on to receive his Masters of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama.
Matt loves studying Scripture, theology, and church history. As a result of these interests he wrote his masters thesis on Martin Luther’s Christocentric Hermeneutic. He was the Associate for Discipleship for five years at St. Helena’s in Beaufort, SC before he was called to be the rector of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Jacksonville, FL. Matt has a passion for preaching, teaching, and making disciples. In his free time, he also enjoys watching and playing almost all sports. He is married to Catie, a University of Alabama graduate – Roll Tide! They have three boys: twins – Timothy and John David, and Stuart.
